SOVA HINTS: Realism

Realism is when something is depicted exactly as it is.  It is real.  It exists.  Realistic artists try to depict things in a photographic quality.

Leonardo Da Vinci was one of the first of the great masters to really capture a realistic portrayal, and so we usually credit him with creating the realism style.
As technology advances the style of realism developed more accurately.

Gustav Courbet was able to capture immense detail in his paintings.

Today Canadian artist Robert Bateman continues to atonish with how life-like he can create his paintings with landscapes featuring wildlife.
